AOK Raiders at bat against the Wiky Lumberjacks in Manitoulin men’s fastball championships this week

MANITOULIN— The AOK Raiders are up against the Wiky Lumberjacks this week in a best of five Manitoulin Men’s Fastball League championship series.

“The final standings were the Wiky Lumberjacks in first followed by Mindemoya Brewers, AOK Raiders, Kaboni Tigers, Gore Bay Merchants and M’Chigeeng,” said Manitoulin Men’s Fastball League commissioner Mike Abotosaway. “Wiky and Mindemoya had a bye. In the final series AOK beat M’Chigeeng and Gore Bay beat Kaboni. In the best of three second round, AOK beat Mindemoya and Wikwemikong beat Gore Bay.”

“Now it is just down to AOK and Wiky playing off in a best of five,” continued Mr. Abotossaway. “All our games are at 7:30 pm, with our first game on Tuesday (September 1) in AOK (Aundeck Omni Kaning).”

The team is also scheduled to go to bat at Wikwemikong’s Thunderbird Park on Wednesday, September 2 and Thursday, September 3 at 7:30 pm.
