SUDBURY—The Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves midget team, which includes three players originally from Manitoulin, have won a major award.

The Wolves team took home the Sheridan Family Team of the Year Award at the House of Kin Sports Honours awards, held June 13. The team had won the Telus Cup Central Region Midget AAA championships and appeared at the national championships for the second time in five seasons, having also competed in 2007-2008.

The House of Kin Sudbury Sports Celebrity Dinner and Awards committee selected the area sports winners in the numerous categories. This year, the 44th annual dinner and awards were held at the Caruso Club in Sudbury.

As has been reported previously, Michael Laidley, Steven Green and Dylan Callaghan are all members of the Nickel Capital Wolves, and are all originally from Manitoulin Island.
