LITTLE CURRENT—Luc’s Pizza and Eatery has opened up in Little Current and is serving up a full menu of great food, all made in-house using family recipes.

“I was raised in the (restaurant) industry in the Sudbury area, but moved to the Island 25 years ago,” said Luc Noel, who owns the restaurant with his partner Karen McGaughey. “Karen has worked in the industry on Manitoulin for years.”

Mr. Noel said that opening a restaurant has been a dream of the couple for a long time and that they were excited to have finally made it a reality.

“We were glad to get this great location—it’s laid out well, is a newer building and is close to everything,” said Mr. Noel of the renovated restaurant located in the former One Stop Pizza.

The couple is preparing all the food in-house using Mr. Noel’s mother’s recipes and homemade desserts made by Ms. McGaughey’s sister.

“I come from a family of seven and my mom taught us all to cook growing up,” shared Mr. Noel. “I eventually want to have a meat shop downstairs, so that everything can be from in-house or locally sourced when possible.”

The menu is family friendly with everything from pizza to a grilled chicken dinner and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Menu items are reasonably priced with dinners such as lasagna with garlic bread or grilled chicken breast with mashed potatoes and vegetables for $10.25.

The restaurant opens daily, Sunday to Thursday from 6 am to 10 pm and Friday to Saturday from 6 am until 11 pm.

“We want to be known for good food and service and are open to criticism at any time or feedback so we can better serve our customers,” said Mr. Noel.

He said that they are also hoping to offer pizza delivery soon, and will have a portable debit/credit machine. They are also planning on getting their liquor licence soon.

The pair have been busy, along with their family, painting and revamping the interior of the building.

Luc’s Pizza and Eatery is located on the corner of Vankoughnet Street and Highway 6 (41 Walcot Street) in Little Current, the former One Stop Pizza restaurant. Stop in or call 705-368-3287 for more information.
