Providence Bay News and Notes Jan22

The Pearson Brothers Memorial Hockey tournament was well attended on January 10, 11 and 12. Stuart Pearson’s team won the sportsmen division and Gore Bay won the 35ers. Darren Dewar wishes to thank all of the teams for the patience dealing with the power outages on Saturday. All in all it was a great weekend of hockey.

Our grandson in Alberta Matthias Heinrich and Kate Woodfine were married on Saturday in Edmonton. Matthias is a biochemist at the University of Alberta.

Linda Gilchrist did not have a heart attack, she is feeling better and was at church on Sunday. We wish her a speedy recovery and her daughter Wendy came with her.

The Mindemoya Library is now open and looking wonderful. Thanks to all that helped and supported us. The grand opening (tentative) is February 13 at 2 pm in the Mindemoya Library. Hope to see everyone there.

Don Arrowsmith was guest speaker at Community of Christ Church. Brenda, his wife, played the piano. Lovely lunch was served afterwards.

Please remember our seniors and veterans.

Let’s start this week in practice in random acts of kindness. It helps you to feel better as well.
