Volunteer Stuart Pearson loves serving as a designated driver

Stuart Pearson

Mindemoya’s Stuart Pearson loves to drive, and he gets to fulfill that passion both while working and in his off-time.

Mr. Pearson has worked at Manitoulin Chrysler for the past three years, acting as a shop cleaner, driver and doing some janitorial work.

The good-natured young man is well known on Manitoulin’s sportsmen hockey circuit, a regular at all the Island’s tournaments each winter, both on the ice and cheering on his friends. He often captains the winning Pearson Brothers Memorial Hockey Tournament in Providence Bay, too. Mr. Pearson can also often be found helping the Mindemoya Brewers men’s fastball team during the summer months.

While hockey may not be a thing this winter, Mr. Pearson remains busy by working out at the gym and acting as a designated driver for his many friends and, until they were knocked out of the playoffs, cheering on his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.

Mr. Pearson especially enjoys being a DD because it gets him out and about across Manitoulin and often has him doing new and different things. He even boasts a custom ‘Stuber’ t-shirt, a pun on the popular driver for hire app Uber.

Mr. Pearson said he really enjoys his time at Manitoulin Chrysler because of his friendly, and funny, co-workers, “and Wayne (Legge) is probably the best boss I’ve ever had.”

He’s a little brother to Jen and a proud uncle to a niece.
