ELIZABETH BAY—A Western Manitoulin woman says there is no doubt of what she saw this past Tuesday, while travelling in her vehicle through Elizabeth Bay to Gore Bay.
“There is no doubt it was a cougar,” stated Sarah Lynn Arnot of her sighting of a cougar at around 1 pm this past Tuesday. “I see deer all the time, and this was certainly no deer, or a dog. It was one kilometre west of Pine Haven Road, when it came out from the north bush and headed south.”
Ms. Arnot explained, “I was less than 100 feet away from the cougar, he was in the middle of the road, and they way he was running there is no doubt what it was. He had a nice golden cover, with a dark face and a long tail with a tip on it.”
