“ONE TOUGH OLD BASTARD”
November 6, 1926 – November 3, 2016
Ed had a diverse working life, he was the LCBO manager in Capreol for years, moved to Little Current and owned and managed Maple Grocery Store, and in later years worked with his son. He loved to hunt and fish, sharing this with his grandchildren. Ed will be remembered for his humour and predictable answer when asked how he was, “Tell you tomorrow.” Died peacefully at Manitoulin Health Centre, on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the age of 89, just three days shy of his 90th birthday. Predeceased by wife Donna (nee McGaughey) (2009). Loved father of Ed (wife Dawn) of Little Current. Proud grandfather of Samantha, Kristen, Christopher, and great-grandfather of Emily and Destiny. Brother of George (wife Anne) of Winona, ON; Vicky Bechard (husband Bob) of Halifax, NS; Betty Werhun (husband Fred) of Victoria, BC. Predeceased by siblings and spouses Mike (wife Rita), William (wife Kay), Helen Duncan (husband Alan), Leo (survived by wife Mary of Sudbury) and Jimmy. Brother-in-law of Lyman (Maysie), Calvin (Bonnie), Lyla (Ron), Lillian Pleuna (Harold), Irene, and Dianne. Will always be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.
