Edwards exhibit on now at Artists on Elgin

SUDBURY—‘Impressions of the North,’ an exhibit by Barbara and Richard Edwards of Edwards Studios in Kagawong, is on now until September 28 at Artists on Elgin in Sudbury.

“An impression is formed without conscious though; it is a mark impressed upon the surface of something.” Barbara and Richard Edwards interpret ‘Impression of the North’ in fused glass and original hand printed serigraphs.

Ms. Edwards explores the forms and light found in nature through fused glass, a press release on the exhibit states.  “Her work demonstrates the hot fluidity of the glass and the ways in which it captures and influences sunlight.” Ms. Edwards’ work often includes themes of local wildlife and vegetation.

Mr. Edwards’ serigraphs are an intuitive expression of Northern Ontario, “capturing a moment in time filled with colour and natural light,” the press release continues. “His colour palette expresses the essence of the Northern scenery.”

The opening reception for the event will be held on Saturday, September 10 from 1 to 4 pm at Artists on Elgin, 168 Elgin Street, Sudbury.
