In loving memory of Ken Honess, a resident of Gore Bay, who died at his residence on Monday, May 9, 2011 at the age of 81 years. He was born in Mills Township, son of the late Llewellyn and Lila (Lewis) Honess. Ken had sailed the Great Lakes for a while, but the majority of his life he farmed, a job that he loved. He also enjoyed making maple syrup, gardening and working in the bush. He also thoroughly enjoyed visiting and talking to people and reminiscing of days gone by. Dearly loved husband of Bessie (Douglas) Honess. Loving and loved father of Vickie and husband Terry Orford, Lyle and his wife Shelley, Ruth and husband Murray Orford, Sharon, and Sandra and her husband Brian Smith. Proud grandfather of Shauna (Rob), Terri Lynn (Daryl), Travis (Daylin), Melissa (Jason), Kevin, Michael (Brittany), Kaitlyn, Jeffrey and Emily and great-grandchildren Brady, Wyatt, Rory, Malia, Mason, Kowan, Greyson, Rylan and Ella Grace. Dear brother of Helen McColeman (Dalton predeceased), Jean McKay (Raymond predeceased), Jessie Bell (Floyd predeceased), Blanche Purvis, husband Blair and Mary Bond (Willis predeceased) and sister-in-law Margaret (brother Calvin predeceased) Also survived by many nieces and nephews and special family member Fred Arniel. Friends called at the Culgin Funeral Home, Gore Bay after 7 pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. The funeral service will be conducted in the Wm. G. Turner Chapel on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 11 am with Pastor Maxine McVey officiating. Interment in Burpee Mills Cemetery.
