Spring Bay News

Our sympathy is extended to Mrs. Willard Sloss in the passing of her grandson Todd Shaw, also to Todd’s mother, Diane Lalonde and his wife Jenny Shaw, along with their families.

Spring Bay euchre is at the Spring Bay Community Centre on Friday, November 18 at 7:30pm. Come on out for an enjoyable evening. All welcome.

As my friend started to introduce a woman who had recently moved to our town to become the assistant to the postmaster, his mind went blank, and he couldn’t remember her name! After considerable hemming and hawing, he blurted out, “Meet the postmaster’s mistress.”

Not only have we had beautiful fall colours, we have had some absolutely gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Did you see the full moon on November 13th? It appeared to be larger than it has been seen in the past 68 years and won’t be seen as large again until 2034, 18 years away. The apparent size difference was due to the wonders of the solar system; the moon had moved considerably closer to the earth.

Congratulations to John Reid who has 30 years of service with our fire department, how time flies! Thank you, John.

By the time you’re 80-years-old, you’ve learned everything. You only have to remember it.

We’ve reached the middle of November, time to start preparations for Christmas.
