Column: MSS Kids in the Halls

The week before winter break went by so slowly not just for me, but for everyone. Teachers crammed in tests, and people were constantly daydreaming about Christmas Day. Even with all the stress, there was still excitement in the air and let me tell you that’s what Mustangs do best.

On Tuesday, there was the annual Mustang Talent Show. I’ve only been here for two years, but this was the most amazing Christmas concert I have ever seen!

It completely blew everyone’s socks off. There were three main performances, and one of them was a full band playing the theme song from How to Train Your Dragon. Majestic. Maybe not very Christmas-y, but man, was it cool.

The second act was amazing performing Mac DeMarco songs, including “Let Her Go,” and it was an amazing performance. To top it all off, there were people dressed as Christmas carolers who sang “Piano Man” by Billy Joel, and someone did a backflip mid performance? It brought the show to a perfect ending.

The same day, the senior and junior boys’ basketball teams travelled to Elliot Lake for a few games, playing hard and representing our school with pride.

The week ended on a high note when Friday brought a quick scare. I thought I had missed my bus only to find out it was a snow day.
