September 8—As I write this morning it is sunny but gets so cool at night.

We extend sympathy to the Scott family in the sudden passing of Laura. Her funeral is on Tuesday, September 9 at 2 pm at the Pentecostal Church in Spring Bay with Pastor Allan Wilkinson of the Salem Missionary Church taking the service. She was a member of our Twilight Club in Providence Bay and enjoyed coming to the meetings and quilting. She will be missed.

Allan and Rosemarie Eagleson visited with me on Saturday. They have just arrived home from visiting their family in Oregon. While there they also went on a boat cruise and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Lillian Greenman visited me on Saturday.

Congratulations to Elwood and Berniece Lewis on their 60th wedding anniversary. A lovely come and go tea was held at the curling rink club in Providence Bay on Saturday. I met so many people I hadn’t seen for a while. It was a lovely afternoon.

Congratulations to Margaret Cranston on recently winning the Citizen of the Year award from Providence Bay/Spring Bay Lions Club.

Blair Sullivan had his son and daughter Larry Jr. and Anne here for a few weeks.

The tomatoes are starting to ripen now but garden corn is slow this year.

Get well wishes to all who are not feeling well.
