Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, December 20, Greater Sudbury Police were called to attend a house Fire that had occurred at a residence on Victoria Street in Greater Sudbury. Greater Sudbury Fire Services and Emergency Medical Services were already on scene. A 60-year old female was transported to hospital where resuscitative efforts were unsuccessful, and the female was pronounced deceased.

Greater Sudbury Police and investigators from the Office of the Fire Marshal are currently at the residence in order to determine the cause of the fire, as well as, assist with the Coroner’s investigation.

At this time there are no indications of foul play.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted to assist in determining the cause of death.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
