It is the last week of school before Christmas break! That means there are only six more days to get your last minute Christmas shopping done. A Christmas joke for you:
Did you know Santa had only eight reindeer last Christmas? Comet stayed home to clean the sink.
The MSS Senior music class and Grade 9 music class along with the vocal group travelled to Island elementary schools last week for the Christmas music tour. MSS students went to Assiginack Public School and Little Current Public School (LCPS) on Tuesday, December 10 and Central Manitoulin Public School (CMPS), Lakeview Public School, and C.C. McLean Public School on Thursday, December 12. Thank you to all the schools for their warm welcome and energetic singing for songs such as ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ and ‘Frosty the Snowman.’

The Nightmare Before Christmas Masquerade dance was to be held on Friday, December 13 for students. Due to the weather conditions and in the interest of everyone’s safety, the dance was cancelled.
This week is filled with holiday fun for the students. Monday, December 16, the Headstrong team organized cookie decorating for students. Yum! SHARE/Go Green members sold Candygrams on Tuesday, December 17. Students could buy candygrams for their friends and they would be delivered at a later time. There is an open gym for students to enjoy, today, Wednesday, December 18. Tomorrow, Thursday, December 19, Vocal Group is going from class to class singing some of everyone’s favourite Christmas Carols! On Friday, the final day before the break, there will be a Christmas Carnival and Movie Day!
Tomorrow, Thursday, December 19, is the 50th annual Awards Night in the cafeteria at MSS at 7 pm. Everyone is welcome to come and watch last year’s graduates receive recognition for their achievements while at MSS!
The MSS robotics team is currently preparing for their competition season kickoff event in Oakville on January 4. This year’s team student members include Rhys Allison, Jake Brasil, Cameron Buck-Orr, Carter Byers, Ethan Cooper, Zachary Dallaire, Ryan Goddard, Landon Hare, Jocelyn Kuntsi, Jasen Millette, Jaemie Moor, Jack Pennie, Tyrel Sagle, Lindsay Sheppard, Ethan Theijsmeijer, Noah Volpini, Ben Willis, Darwin Wood and Hayden Young.
