Advance polls will be open from April 18-21 across Manitoulin

MANITOULIN—This election is shaping up to be one of the most consequential in living memory, and the opportunities to mark a ballot for your choice to lead the nation into these turbulent times are legion. For the first time, three of the advance polls will be located on First Nations.

Advance polling stations will be open from Friday, April 18 to Monday, April 21 with voting hours from 9 am to 9 pm in locations across the Manitoulin District—with the exception of Whitefish River, which ill only be the one day on April 18..

Polling locations include: the upstairs hall of the Whitefish River FN Community Centre, the Whitefish Falls Community Hall, the Wiikwemkoong administration office, the NEMI Recreation Centre in Little Current, Providence Bay Community Centre, the Gore Bay municipal office and the M’Chigeeng Complex.

There are many different other opportunities to vote, including at your assigned polling station on election day, Monday, April 28. Polls will be open for 12 hours from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm.

You can vote early, even before the advance polls by dropping by the Election Canada office at 60 Worthington Street (Hwy 6 at the NEMI Welcome Centre) at your assigned polling station from 9 am to 9 pm. You can vote there by April 22, 6 pm.

The Election Canada office option will require you to write in the name of your chosen candidate.

You will vote using the special ballot process.

Elections Canada offices are open seven days a week, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 9 pm, Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday from noon to 4 pm.

You can even vote by mail, but you must apply online or at any Elections Canada office across the country. There is a deadline and a caveat to voting by mail: you must apply to vote by mail by 6 pm Tuesday, April 22 and you will vote using the special ballot process. Important to note, once you apply to vote by mail, you can’t change your mind and vote at advance polls or on election day.
