KAGAWONG—The Billings Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted paramedics with Manitoulin-Sudbury Emergency Medical Services (EMS) after a person sustained an injury at Bridal Veil Falls recently.
“We were called out to respond to a medical life assist call,” stated Martin Connell, Billings fire chief, of the incident that occurred on Saturday, June 28 at approximately 5 pm. “EMS received a call about an injured person at the base of the falls. A female had broken her leg.”
“We then received a call from the Sudbury-Manitoulin EMS to assist in carrying the injured patient up the stairs by the falls,” said Fire Chief Connell, who added that he wasn’t able to obtain any details on how the person had suffered the injury.
Fire Chief Connell said, “We don’t get many calls for service there (Bridal Veil Falls), probably about once every two years.”
