In loving memory of Joe Debassige, a resident of M’Chigeeng First Nation, who passed away at the Mindemoya Hospital on Saturday, September 6, 2014. He was born in West Bay, son of the late Angus and Elizabeth (Bissaillon) Debassige. Joe enjoyed going to bingo, playing horseshoes and watching traffic go by. He was a wonderful husband, brother and was especially fond of his nieces and nephews. Joe was the “Honey Bun” of his beloved Beulah (Sugar Plum) French. Dear brother of Linda Campagnolo (Mike) of Tottenham, Eva Stevens (Art predeceased) of M’Chigeeng, Donald Debassige of Toronto, Elsie Debassige (John) of Edmonton, Clara (Hazel) Debassige of Sarnia, Alex Debassige of Thunder Bay, Rose Marie Debassige of Toronto, Ronald Debassige of M’Chigeeng and predeceased by brothers Ralph and Alfred and sister Lorna. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends called at Saswaahns Spiritual Centre after 10 am on Monday. The funeral mass to celebrate Joe’s life will be conducted at Immaculate Conception Church, M’Chigeeng on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 11 am. Interment in M’Chigeeng Cemetery.
