Local Resident Decries Tree Cutting on Trail for Hotel Patrons

Hope for Regrowth

To the Expositor:

For years I have spent my summer walking the Waterfront Trail in Little Current. It is shady, cool and welcoming. A few weeks ago, I noticed that trees were being cut down on the trail! Eventually I discovered the hotel wanted them cut down so their patrons could have a better view from their rooms. The hotel doesn’t even own the lakefront property! Parts of the trail are now sunny, hot and unpleasant. I am so disappointed that the Waterfront Trail has been so severely damaged. I hope this is temporary destruction and look forward the regrowth on the trail.

Thank you for your attention.
