MSS Kids in the Hall

Mustangs are finally into second semester; all new classes and even some new teachers! Ms. Clark is coming back, and MSS welcomes Miss Boisvert, Mr. Robinson, and Mrs. Hutchinson to our school.

I know that you have probably run low on school supplies and are rushing to prepare for second semester. Try shopping at the MSS store! You can get papers, pencils, notebooks and even binders! Try shopping local—very local.

The high school sports teams are pumped and ready to give it their all. We have seasons coming to a close and we are glad to say that we know our athletes tried their best and had fun. On Wednesday, February 3 our girls’ volleyball teams are travelling to Elliot Lake for a tournament. We wish you the best of luck, girls and know that you will represent us well! On Tuesday, February 2 our boys’ basketball teams are going to away games in Blind River. We hope you do well guys and give it your all. The hockey teams are also coming to the end of their successful seasons.

To all those Grade 12s who are bursting with excitement yes, your graduation is only five months away! But do you really want your high school memories to dissipate? Grad pictures are coming up quickly, and anyone planning to get their picture taken should sign up as soon as possible.

Speeches for the Royal Canadian Legion public speaking contest will be presented soon and all drafts have been submitted to Ms. Bauer or Mrs. Marshall. We have three seniors and one junior competing, and it seems like everyone is excited to present their topics. There will be a competition in the school and classes will be invited to attend.

Sign-up for the Stratford trip is starting soon! The trip is open to Grades 11 and 12. The shows you would be going to see are Hamlet, The Sound of Music and Carousel. That is a great selection of plays, and I for one think that the trip is going to be fantastic. Sign up is going to be outside of E9.

Remember, Oklahoma opens at MSS on February 12 and runs until February 14. This would make a wonderful Valentine’s Day outing.

So now lets all get into our second semester routines, and enjoy the rest of our school year. ‘Til next time, stay golden, Mustangs!
