Top 5 Picks
1. ‘Two By Two’ by Nicholas Sparks
2. ‘Darkest Journey’ by Heather Graham
3. ‘Woman Of God’ by James Patterson
4. ‘Without Mercy’ by Jefferson Bass
5. ‘Born To Run’ by Bruce Springsteen
‘Two By Two’ – Nicholas Sparks is one of the world’s most beloved storytellers and has many of his novels international bestsellers as well as several adopted into major motion pictures. The most recent movie is ‘The Choice’ in 2016. His novels are the kind you read and when you get to the end you cry and makes you think about life.
In ‘Two By Two’ Russell Green has it all, a wife, a lovable daughter, a beautiful home and a successful career. He is living the dream that rapidly turns into a nightmare. A good read.
‘Darkest Journey’ – I enjoyed this book which is one of several in the Krewe of Hunters series. In this book we meet a new character, Ethan Delaney, who is new to the FBI and is brought in to solve a murder. Another good one in this series.
‘Woman Of God’ – I have been disappointed in the last few books that James Patterson has written. It seems that he always has a co-author, several different ones, and I seem to be more disappointed since this has happened. I know many authors have shadow writers and some it doesn’t seem to effect the story but James Patterson is not on my “have to read it right away” list anymore. This one isn’t a bad story, it will keep you reading, but I wouldn’t say its one of my best reads. It’s about St. Peter’s Square in Rome and the white smoke signals that a new pope has been chosen…and could it be a woman? It is a turning point that may change the church forever, some people are ecstatic and others are willing to kill for their cause and so it begins….
‘Without Mercy’ is another Body Farm mystery and this is another one that doesn’t disappoint. Forensic anthropologist Bill Brockton has spent 25 years solving brutal murders, but none as horrific and merciless as his latest case. This novel is gruesome but also has a good storyline. A good read.
‘Born To Run’ – Some music and musicians will never be forgotten and Bruce Springsteen I feel is one of them. This book tells about his life with honesty, humour and originality found in his songs. It states that this book is not only for people who enjoyed the singer, but also this is a book for workers and dreamers, parents and children, lovers and loners, artists, freaks, or anyone who has ever wanted to be baptized in the holy river of rock ‘n roll.
