Food for thought

The steady downpours experienced on Saturday, May 20 did little to dampen spirits or attendance at the second Pork Roast fundraiser aimed at building a parochial school in Tehkummah for that community’s fast growing Amish community. The parking lot was filled with vehicles of all makes, models and descriptions, including plenty of those horse-drawn buggies that have become a common sight along Island highways and byways. Supporters from across Manitoulin and the North Shore, some even from as far away as Kincardine, came to dine and bid on the many items available at the accompanying auction.
