Crime Stoppers and the Manitoulin OPP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the parties responsible for 2 residential fires.

On February 28, 2020 at around 7:37 p.m., officers of the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police and Robinson Township Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Highway 540 in Robinson Township.  Upon arrival, the residence was found burned to the ground and the fire to be suspicious.

Later on the same date at 10:35 p.m., the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police with the assistance of the Gore Bay and Billings Township Fire Departments responded to a second structure fire on Nelson Road in Gordon Township.  Another residence had been burned to the ground with similar circumstances.

Luckily the residences were unoccupied at the time of the fires. The OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), the Manitoulin OPP Crime Unit and the Ontario Fire Marshall (OFM) are continuing with the investigation.
