GORE BAY—The Craig Ramsey rink based out of Sudbury won the first event at the Gore Bay Curling Club annual men’s bonspiel, held January 31-February 2.

Mr. Ramsey’s rink also included Matt Dumontelle, Jay Jewett and Pete Karcz. They defeated the Reuben Allen rink in the final game. For their efforts, the Ramsey rink was presented with the E.F. Priddle Memorial Trophy, sponsored by the McLaughlin family. Along with Mr. Allen, his rink included Al Lanktree, Darryl Vanhorn and Devin Lockeyer.

In the second event the Gord Loutitt rink beat the Ray Beaudry rink in the final. The Loutitt rink included Randy Skippen, Bill Kiely and Dwayne Wright. The Ray Beaudry rink included Jack Ferguson, Tom Howard and Dale Bigger.

The Lyle Strain rink was the first-place winners in the third event. His rink included Pierre Trudeau, Scott McDougall and Jim Cahill. The runner-up in the third event was the Tim Lloyd team with Alistair Giles, Mark Zwygart and Rico Rinaldi.

Sixteen teams took part in the annual bonspiel.
