Woman charged with fabricating Wikwemikong sexual assault


WIKWEMIKONG–Wikwemikong Tribal Police are reporting that the Monday, July 8 sexual assault that took place in the ‘Suicide Hill’ area of Wikwemikong has been fabricated by a 19-year-old woman.

Police had reported that the female had been walking up a trail in the area on July 8 when she was attacked and lost consciousness. Once she had awakened, the police were notified immediately.

The 19-year-old has since been charged with public mischief after police investigation revealed that the entire matter was fabricated by the female, which caused police to enter into an investigation of an incident that did not occur.

The female was arrested and released on a promise to appear to attend an Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday, October 16 in Wikwemikong.
