CleanFARMS collection date

CleanFARMS obsolete agricultural pesticides and livestock and equine medications collection. Return your unwanted or obsolete pesticides and livestock medications. The collection site for Manitoulin and region is the Northland Agromart. Dates are September 27, 28 and 29. Farmers can safely dispose of unwanted or obsolete agricultural pesticides and livestock and equine medications at these specific sites. This program is free of charge to farmers. Collection sites will only be accepting targeted products from 9 am to 4 pm at each location. Obsolete or unwanted agricultural pesticides should be identified with a Pest Control Product number on the label. Food animal medications that are used by primary producers in the rearing of animals in an agricultural context should be identified with a DIN number, Ser. Number or Pest Control Product number on the label. No sharps, disinfectants or medicated feed will be collected under the program. Farmers may want to seek advice from their veterinarian or ask the product sellers on disposal options for the sharps. If there is no label, farmers are asked to identify the container as “unknown pesticide” or “unknown animal medication.” Please ensure the container is not leaking. If you are unsure whether your product fits the scope of this collection, you can call CleanFARMS at 1-877-622-4460, ext. 2223. This important program is supported by CropLife Canada, Farm and Food Care Ontario, Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association, Ontario Agri-Business Association, Canadian Animal Health Institute and the Ontario government.
