October 22 horse show
Council reviewed a letter from Sylvia Moggy, president of the Manitoulin Light Horse Club, to request permission to use the horse arena for a horse show on Saturday, October 22. Ms. Moggy requested that the canteen and washrooms inside the arena be open. She explained that she approached the Virtnanens (who operate the canteen) about being open, which they will be, as the ice is going in the same day.
Council approved the use of the horse ring for the October 22 horse show.
Both Councillors Case and Reid said they were happy to see it used and hoped to see it used more often.
Ms. Moggy noted that this will be the final horse show of the year and gives riders a chance to bonus their points.
Council passed Bylaw 16-14 to authorize a contribution agreement between Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario and the Township of Assiginack regarding the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund, formula-based component.
This year’s funds will go towards the hard surfacing of roads.
