Student athlete spotlight!

I always appreciate the efforts of student athletes and how sports affects their experience. It’s a delicate balance of academic rigor and athletic commitment, requiring exceptional time management and discipline. Hats off to this trio, this week.

Former Manitoulin Panther, William McComb has played in Sudbury for the last four years, traveling for two years before making the move for the last two. This season, he played with the GMHL ‘s West Nipissing Lynx Jr A squad. He was awarded the “Rookie of the year” for the association and a 1st runner up in the GMHL. He is finishing up secondary school at LaSalle and accepted his offer to Cambrian for powerline technician this fall!

Mindemoya’s Zoe Redmond is a master of the school – sports’ balance and always with a smile! Zoe played with the Canadore College Panthers this year and was noted for her never-stop attitude and positive vibes!

Finally, congrats to Sidney Koehler who played volleyball with the Humber Hawks who won the Ontario Women’s Volleyball Championship.

Keep up the great work to all those student athletes out there!
