Highway 6 is closed between Whitefish River First Nation and Whitefish Falls due to a multi-vehicle crash on May 1. The OPP report the closure near Shebahonaning Road will last "some time." Drivers can detour at Old Village Road.
BIRCH ISLAND—Highway 6 is closed from Whitefish River First Nation to Whitefish Falls following a serious multi-vehicle collision Friday afternoon, May 1.
Constable Chambers with the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police confirmed the news with The Expositor, noting that multiple vehicle were involved with the collision that reportedly took place near Shebahonaning Road on Highway 6.
Constable Chambers said that due to the severity of the incident the highway will be closed for some time.
A detour is available at Old Village Road.
