MANITOULIN—Lakeshore Drive resident Dennis Charbonneau went to his property to move his water line further under the ice last week, only to discover he had been stranded by the floodwaters cutting the road.
“I wasn’t too worried about my safety,” he said. But since he suffers from Lyme disease, medication was another story—and of course, food. “So, I came to a point where I decided it was time to get out.”
A retired first responder lives just up the road from Mr. Charbonneau, and she decided to check on him.
