Rotary Club fall produce auction a huge success!
The Gore Bay Rotary Club annual fall produce auction, held this past Saturday, was a huge success. In photo, left to right, Rotary members Keith McKeen, auctioneer Rob White, Joellen Sloss, Jack Clark and Don Wright display a portion of all the produce along with many other items auctioned off.

GORE BAY—The bounty of the Thanksgiving season was fully on display as the Gore Bay Rotary Club held its annual fall produce auction this past Saturday.

Along with a huge crowd of visitors on hand to bid on all the items, there was a very long list of items to bid on.

Along with just about any type of produce on hand, including all kinds of fruits and vegetables, there were pies and baked goods, and a Burt Farm fresh turkey too. There were even socks and boxes of potato chips up for bid, along with oodles of cans of paint, preserves, Meeker’s Magic Mix, gift certificates and even fresh fish.

All of the items that auctioneer Robbie White took bids on had been donated by local farmers, businesses and individuals.

“On behalf of the Gore Bay Rotary Club I would like to thank all of you for coming out to our annual fall produce auction,” said Rotary Club president Jack Clark just prior to the auction taking place. “Again this year we have a lot of stuff to bid on. This has been generated by generous donations made by all of our country neighbours.”

“All the money that is raised in the auction will go back into the community,” added Mr. Clark.

“This is my third year of being an auctioneer at this sale,” said Mr. White. “It is an  honour to help out the Rotary Club and help raise money for the community.”
