Legion Branch #177 supports hospital’s smart infusion pump campaign
Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #177 made a $1,000 donation to Paula Fields, president and chief executive officer of the Manitoulin Health Centre toward the hospitals Smart Infusion, Smarter Care pump campaign.

MANITOULIN—Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #177 Little Current have made a $1,000 donation to the Manitoulin Health Centre (MHC).

Members of Branch #177 recently presented a donation to MHC president and chief executive officer (CEO) Paula Fields in support of the Smart Infusion, Smarter Care Pump fundraising campaign.

Duane Deschamps, Branch 177 executive member explained, “the funds were raised through various special events that have been held at the branch over the winter months, including the Legion’s ever popular karaoke events, Super Bowl party and dances.”

“Branch 177 is happy to support our local hospital in any way we can,” said Mr. Deschamps. “The Smart Infusion Smarter Care IV infusion pump campaign is a great opportunity to help MHC and support local healthcare. Many of our membership greatly appreciate the value of having hospitals in our communities.”

In accepting the donation Ms. Fields commented, “We are so grateful for community service organizations that include MHC in the generosity of their hard work. I am also proud to say that three of the Legion members making the donation are committed and valued employees at MHC.”
