Exciting finish at the 2025 Rainbow Ridge Golf Course mixed open

MANITOWANING—The Cheryl and Denis Audette team won the 2025 Rainbow Ridge Golf Course (RRGC) Mixed Open, winning by a stroke in the exhilarating and challenging two days at RRGC. The tournament held the first weekend in June saw top teams battling it out over two days of fun, but intense competition, culminating in a nail-biting finish.

This year’s event was marked by outstanding performances from the Audettes, Recollets, and the team of Bonbled/Pitawanakwat. The leader board was closely contested, with two teams’ neck and neck heading into the final round. The day one format was best ball with day two a scramble format.

The team of Cheryl and Denis Audette surged ahead in the last few holes of the tournament, ultimately securing the championship with a commendable two-day score of 141, besting the team of Kendra and Quinten Recollet by one stroke. This marks the sixth championship for the Audette’s since 2008.

Third place went to the team of Sandy Bonbled and Kirby Pitawanakwat with a two-day score of 146.

The first flight winner was the team of Amber Lewis and Lee Taibossigai, who posted a score of 155. Sylvia and Bruce Recollet were the winers of the second flight, with a score of 165. The third flight winner was the team of Lynett Ominika and Kyle Baibomcowai with a score of 183.

Looking ahead, organizers announced plans for next year’s RRGC Mixed Open, which will be played June 6-7, 2026.
