LITTLE CURRENT—You’ve got to come early to get a good seat and a parking spot at the Legion when the annual Little Current Fish and Game Club dinner is on. Everyone comes out for this event, which makes it a great fundraiser for the club. The packed house is full of laughter and conversation, everyone enjoying a good time and anticipating a great meal.
Terry Stewart, one of the directors of the club welcomed everyone on April 8, giving an update on what’s coming up this spring. “I don’t know if spring is going to come this year,” he admitted. When it finally does arrive, he listed off the many activities they have planned, including the walleye run in Bass Creek and the ever-popular Education Week.
“We invite all the Grade 4s from all over the Island for three days in May. This year will be May 5-7. And we’ll have over 120 students come, and they get to see how the hatchery operates. We have all kinds of events for them to do. We also are working in coordination with Manitoulin Streams. Seija Deschenes is here today. Thanks, Seija, for always working with us. We appreciate your effort,” Mr. Stewart said. And applause filled the room for Manitoulin Streams.
