(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged following a traffic stop on Highway 551, M’Chigeeng First Nation.
On February 3, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle to perform a sobriety check. Through further investigation, police determined that the driver had consumed an intoxicating substance. An arrest was made, and the driver was transported to the Little Current detachment for further testing.
As a result, the driver, Trey BEBONING, 27-years-old from M’Chigeeng, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – drugs
- Refusal to comply with demand
- Have care or control of vehicle with cannabis readily available
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on March 11, 2025.
