M’Chigeeng welcomes winter with a host of fun events for everyone

One of the many highlight events of the M’Chigeeng Winter Carnival, held February 7-9 was the ‘Backhoe Rodeo,’ held in memory of Bill Debassige. In photo the late Mr. Debassige’s daughter Jolene Debassige and grandson Ryder Brook (18 months old) are obviously having a great time participating in the event.
Even dogs took part in winter carnival events in M’Chigeeng.

Mr. Spaghetti Legs entertained youngsters of all ages with his juggling, comedy and handing out balloon sculptures.
Young Floyd Ense Jr. took part in the nail driving competition.
UCCM Police Special Constable Matt Bebonang presents a stuffed teddy bear to young Floyd Ense for winning the kid’s nail driving contest.
Darlene Bebonang, a teacher at the Ojibwe Cultural Foundation, taught several people to make beautiful leather roses.
