MSS Kids in the Halls

School work, homework, tests, projects, presentations, does it ever end? It is half way through the semester which means it’s time for mid-term reports. The Mustangs are keeping busy during these four day weeks with lots of academics and extracurriculars. On top of everything, Easter is coming up! Just because students are busy, doesn’t mean that they’re not getting into the Easter spirit.

An Easter joke for you: What do you get if you pour boiling water down a rabbit hole? A hot cross bunny.

On Friday, April 12, students at MSS wore jerseys to support the Humboldt Broncos and hockey community.

Tomorrow, April 18, the Rainbow District School Board (RDSB) Senate is presenting the ‘RDSB Board Wide Talent Show’ at Sudbury Secondary School from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. There will be performances by students from every secondary school in the RDSB. Tickets are available from Avery Byce, who is the student senator at MSS. Tickets are $5 each.

Friday, April 19 and Monday, April 22 are Easter holidays, therefore no school! Yay!

Another Easter joke for you: What do you call a forgetful rabbit? A hare-brain!

Graduation pictures are coming to MSS the week of April 29. If you are graduating this year, please make sure that you sign up for an appointment. Please see the guidance office or listen to the morning announcements for more information.

On Wednesday, May 1, the Joan Mantle Trust Fund Music concert is being held at MSS. There will be performances by the MSS Vocal Group, Junior Band, Senior Band and other students. Choirs and musicians from the elementary schools will also be performing. Mark the date on your calendar!

On Saturday, May 11, SHARE/Go-Green is holding Manitoulin WE Walk For Water. Individuals or teams will be walking ‘Across the Island’ on May 11, starting from Misery Bay or Wiikwemkoong at 6 am and ending at MSS in M’Chigeeng for a feast. Please feel free to join the MSS students and SHARE/Go Green in their Walk For Water. For more information contact MSS.

As part of the 50th anniversary of Manitoulin Secondary School, renovations are being done throughout the school. The library, Three Fires Confederacy and Agriculture SHSM (Specialist High School Major) are being relocated and upgrades are being done to both the gymnasium and cafeteria. The main entrance was blocked off for a few hours on April 11 in preparations for additional renovations.

Joke of the week: What is the difference between a crazy bunny and a counterfeit banknote? One is bad money and the other is a mad bunny!

Upcoming events include, badminton, Joan Mantle Trust Fund Music concert, Easter, and more!

Happy Easter, everyone! I hope the Easter Bunny finds you! Don’t eat too much chocolate!

Until next time, “Dream and Believe. Learn and Achieve!
