The Tour for Humanity mobile classroom visited Manitoulin Secondary School on October 22 to educate students about the Holocaust, human rights, and Canadian historical injustices.

M’CHIGEENG—On Thursday, October 22, a very special bus rolled into the parking lot of Manitoulin Secondary School (MSS)—the Tour for Humanity (T4H) bus. “We’ve now got two brand new RV buses that are built specifically for our purpose,” said Simon Busse, the educator and presenter on this particular bus tour. “The walls of the RV expand like you see for bedrooms in some RVs. And in our bus, we’ve got four extendable walls and that creates a movie theatre type experience for the students.”
The purpose of this mobile classroom? “Our flagship presentation is all on the Holocaust,” Mr. Busse explained. “And we do that because the namesake of our organization was a Holocaust survivor, Simon Wiesenthal. He was known as the Nazi hunter. He helped in tracking down Nazis that tried to flee Germany after the war (WWII). But Simon Wiesenthal was also a big advocate on teaching future generations about not just the Holocaust, but how hatred in general starts with words and ends with violence.”
