The Manitoulin Swing Bridge at Little Current is reaching its end of life and plans are underway to build a two-lane replacement.

Those attending the meeting last week learned that due to the addition of another lane of traffic, a sidewalk and a bicycle lane, the weight of the new bridge is too substantial to accommodate a design similar to the current bridge.
