KAGAWONG—The Mayor and council members of Billings township are concerned with a rash of vandalism/non-residential break and enters that has taken place and continued in the community since last fall.

“For a community this small, it is very alarming,” stated Billings Mayor Bryan Barker after a recent township council meeting. He explained the rash of break and enters has included the Old Church on the Hill, the Billings gym facility, St. Johns Church, the Dodge building and a couple of the Billings market vendor buildings. The first break-in occurred on October 22, with vandals gained entry into the Church on the Hill by kicking in the kitchen door. Vandals cut a hole on the floor and left trash all over as well as discharging a fire extinguisher.
