MANITOULIN—Hydro One has announced a planned power outage on October 26 on Manitoulin Island.
“Hydro One crews will perform maintenance on transmission infrastructure that serves Manitoulin Island,” said Tiziana Baccega Rosa, senior media relations officer with Hydro One. “This includes the replacement of poles and insulators which is expected to increase reliability for our customers. To complete this critical work, an outage is needed as equipment must be de-energized for our crews to work safely.”
The outage will take place on Sunday, October 26 from 7 am to 3 pm. All of Manitoulin Island will be without power, affecting nearly 12,000 Hydro One customers. As well the outage will include Whitefish River First Nation, Killarney, Cockburn Island, Bay of Islands and Willisville.
