Shawn Gibbons Memorial

This past weekend the Assiginack arena held the first annual, Slapshot opener Shawn Gibbons Memorial, hockey tournament. It was organized by Janet McComb (Shawn’s sister) who did a fabulous job. The U11 Manitoulin Panthers were also in Sudbury to face the Wolves. Connor Pheasant had his first of two assists to Nixon Lane to open up the scoring for the Panthers. His next assist set up Greyson Francis on his power play goal. Rowen Lecuyer and Hunter Inglis also fed Bryce Debassige to net one for a final score of the 7-3 loss.
Next up, the U15s play home games here this weekend. Meanwhile, the U13’s and the U-18 girls are at away at tournaments.

The Case’s next trip will be to the brier in St John’s Newfoundland slated to finish in March.

Off the ‘Rock’ hockey!

Catching up with the King family who has a super busy winter in session with three kids on three different teams and two different towns. Eldest, Max King is with U16 AAA North Bay Trappers, Adriella is with the U15BB Sudbury Lady Wolves and Tatiana is with U13B Lady Wolves.
