(ESPANOLA, ON) – The Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently on scene of a fatal collision on Highway 6 near Espanola.
On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Manitoulin OPP and Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services responded to a three-vehicle collision involving two passenger vehicles and a motorcycle. As a result of the collision, one driver has been pronounced deceased, and a second driver was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Highway 6 is currently closed between Fox Lake Road and Lang Lake Road, and is expected to be closed for several hours. There is no detour available. Motorists are advised to obtain information about the road closure by calling 511 or by visiting the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) website at: https://511on.ca/.
