LELAND BLAIR JOHNSTON

In memory of Leland Blair Johnston, a resident of Gore Bay, who passed away at the Mindemoya Hospital on February 22, 2016 at the age of 73 with his niece Lisa at his side. Blair was born in Gordon Township. Son of Ray and Janice (Boyter) Johnston, both predeceased. Blair was employed for five years with Manitoulin Transport, being one of its first employee. Following that he worked for 30 years on the ships of the Great Lakes. Blair had a variety of interests. He bought property and developed it into building lots. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, reading and visiting with family and friends. Blair is survived by his nephew Gary Gibson, nieces Lisa Johnston (Andy McFadden), and Stacey (Dean) Dickson and great-nieces and nephews Frances Hore, Kayla (Mitchell) Graham, Kyler Pearson, Alanna McFadden, Shae Dickson, Dillon Dickson and great-great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Vilot and brother Frank. At Blair’s request, their will be no visitation or funeral service.
