SILVER WATER—Long time firefighter Bruce Duncanson has been recognized for his 30 years of service to the Robinson Township volunteer fire department.
On Wednesday, December 7 the Robinson Township recreational committee held its annual Christmas banquet. On this occasion each year it is their practice to present awards to noteworthy citizens of the township. This year’s award was presented to Bruce Duncanson for 30 years service on the local volunteer fire department.
A letter of commendation was presented with thanks from the community, the Ontario government and the fire marshal.
Mr. Duncanson served the community as a volunteer firefighter from 1980 until 2010 at which time he retired at the age of 79. Bruce celebrates his 86th birthday on December 21.
