MINDEMOYA – The Haweater Shriners unit has made a substantial donation to the Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary and Manitoulin Health Centre (MHC) toward the expansion and renovation of the Mindemoya Hospital emergency department.
“The Haweater Shriners are pleased to be here today to present a cheque for $5,000 towards the Mindemoya emergency department,” said Willis Campbell, chairman of the local chapter of the Shriners. “All money has been privately donated through Haweater Nobles of the Shrine Club.”
Members of the Haweater Shriners, including Mr. Campbell, Aaron Wright, secretary/treasurer, Jim Corrigan and Ted Taylor presented the cheque for $5,000 to Judy Mackenzie, president of the Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary, along with Tim Vine, vice president of corporate support services and chief financial officer of MHC.
“We’re grateful that we can contribute to the project, through funds like the local Shriners are providing,” said Ms. Mackenzie.
Mr. Vine noted, “the MHC has always been able to count on the generous support of the community. I’m very pleased to accept this donation on behalf of the MHC. We are very grateful to receive these funds and a big thank you to the local Shriners Club.”
