Little Current United Church holds youth bible camp

LITTLE CURRENT—The United Church Hall in Little Current was a bustling hive of creativity over the past week as youth gathered for a youth bible camp.

From tie-dyed T-shirts to hand-crafted art works, the children were kept busy being creative in expressing stories from the Bible through art.

The Expositor caught up with pastor Rev. Whitney Bruno as a group of children, and a number of adults, held a car wash on the morning of Friday, August 29.

“The kids are celebrating completing vacation Bible camp,” said Rev. Bruno. “They are washing cars to raise funds so that they can do camp again next year. In general, having a lot of fun with each other.”

On Sunday, the children taught anyone who arrived their very favourite parts of camp, said Rev. Bruno.

The object of the camp was to bring the teachings of Jesus and the bible to youth in a way that was fun for the children without being ‘preachy’ as such.

Rev. Bruno noted the youth bible camp is non-denominational and that everyone was welcome.

“We hope to expand the camp next year and have even more children come,” she said.
