Sheguiandah Fall Fair enjoys steady growth thanks to school program

SHEGUIANDAH—The sun shone brightly over the festivities of the Centennial Museum of Sheguiandah as the annual Sheguiandah Fall Fair got underway this past Saturday. A steady stream of visitors stopped in to discover the amazing talents of students from Little Current Public School and along with a host of competing exhibits showcasing rural crafts, baking and music provided by George Williamson while enjoying a barbecue lunch.

“We are very happy with the turnout for this year’s fall fair,” said fall fair committee chair Linda Erskine, who was busy flipping burgers and hot dogs throughout the day. “We have had a record number of entries in the fair and so many people have dropped in to check out the exhibits.”

There were also several vendors on hand for the event and the bright blue sky and warm late summer weather allowed for setting up their displays outside.

This year’s winners in the adult category for most entries in the fair were Joan Beard and Jack Ferguson. Winners in the youth category were Ada Nicholls and Elwood Nicholls.
