“I’ve been working in wire wrap crystal jewellery for some time now,” Lynn Jackes, operator of Lynn’s Loft told The Expositor after the grand opening on June 28. She pointed out she does not use diamonds, but materials like amethyst. She has had her works sold in Kim Lalonde’s studio in the Harbour Centre.
“I actually opened about a month or two ago, but am easing into it,” said Ms. Jackes. “As a live-in artist, this is a working studio, I don’t just create commercial in the studio, it provides me the opportunity to design and create in the studio.”
“When this studio came up to rent, I decided to retire from Burpee and Mills township municipal office,” said Ms. Jackes, who said her new studio location, “has to be most beautiful place on the Island.”
Along with her own art works, Ms. Jackes carries the works of a couple of other artists, paintings and greeting card works by Michelle Legere and Pamela Meacher.
