This unique new works draws on a haunting thriller of tragedy which strikes after a gang initiation goes wrong. Set in the 1950s, graduates meet to celebrate their achievement, when an initiation of a fellow graduate takes a turn and causes a disruption to themselves, their bond and the community.
The Dead End is suitable for ages 12+. General admission tickets are $25 per person.
Debajehmujig Storytellers also offer a sliding scale for admissions, acknowledging the various forms of oppressive systems which result in economic disparages. “We aim to mitigate financial barriers to entry that members of our region may experience for Arts and Culture events and activities. Additionally, there will be preview of the production on July 29 at 7 pm, which is a pay-what-you-can admission,” the theatre says.
Tickets are available in person or online.
The work is directed by Daniel Recollet-Mejaki, and will be featuring Daniel Recollet-Mejaki, Tyler Pangowish, Quinten Kaboni, Dustin Trudeau, Sapper Wemigewans and Tabitha Peltier. Set design, props and lighting designed by Ashley Manitowabi, Barry Beaver, Edison Fox-Corbier and Zephyr Pheasant. Sound by David Osawabine.
Doors open at 6.30 pm. Canteen with light refreshments and snack will be available.
