The Providence Bay/Spring Bay Recreation Committee is once again hosting free public skating at the arena on Saturday nights from 7-9 pm and Sundays from 1-3 pm. They are looking for volunteers to help man the concession booth on Sunday afternoons and weekdays during the Christmas break. Any potential volunteers can phone Heather at (705)377-4055. They will offer community service volunteer hours to any high school kids that can help out. They’re also hosting kids Shinny on Friday nights from 7-8 pm and then Moms and Tots on Saturday mornings from 10:30-11:30 am.
Condolences go out to Toots McDermid and to her family on the recent passing of her sister Sally.
Ingrid Blay returned from her trip to visit family and friends to celebrate numerous birthdays, including her own. She was near Dusseldorf, Germany. On her return she extended her off-Island trip by travelling with her husband to visit his family for an early Christmas.
We sure received a pile of snow on the weekend. It seems like it’s going to stay this time so it’s a great time to take advantage of it. Get out those snowshoes, skis, snowmachines and other winter activity gear.
The Community of Christ Church is hosting a night of caroling and all are welcome to come out and enjoy it. It’s being held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 beginning at 7 pm. They’d also like to remind everyone to come and join in on their Christmas Eve Service which is being held at their regular time of 7 pm on Christmas Eve.
Don’t forget that it’s almost time for the Annual New Year’s Eve Dance that’s hosted by the Providence Bay/Spring Bay Lions Club. We hope to be able to give you more information next week. It will be another rockin’ good time at the Providence Bay Centennial Community Centre.
